Description

The Metropolitan WInd Symphony, Lewis J. Buckley, Conductor and Music Director

This is a podcast preview of our next concert, which will be on Sunday, May 5 2013 at 2:00 pm in Lexington MA, in Cary Hall, 1605 Massachusetts Avenue. The Music Director will give a pre-concert talk at 1:30 , in which the Matthew LaRocca, the composer of the piece to receive its world premiere, will join him.

The concert will feature the brand new work Arctic Voices, by LaRocca; an appearance by 12-year-old trumpet wunderkind Geoffrey Gallante (performing a work written by Buckley); and works by Ticheli, Grainger, Gordon Jacob, film composer Rossano Galante, and Robert Sheldon.

This podcast includes brief interesting discussion about and excerpts from the pieces on the program, all narrated by Buckley. Enjoy!
